I need some help reguarding my job?
I am a full time nanny. I started my job about a month ago and I dont like it. The third day I knew it wasnt going to work out. 2 problems: the commute is too far and I feel very uncomfortable when I go to work. I feel like i am about to give a huge speech to a lot of peole. I am sick to my stomach all the time when I go. Before i started working for the family I had a plane ticket to go on vacation for christmas for 2 weeks. But they really needed me the 2nd week so the mom paid $300 to change my plane ticket to come back early.
What should I do? If i quit do i have to pay her the money back??? What should i do

If you didn't use the $300 to change your plane ticket - then you probably should go ahead and pay her back the money she paid- it is only the fair thing to do. Sorry to hear that the job is causing you so much trauma- that is not good at all.

Here's what I would do:

Get a piece of paper out and draw a line down the middle length-wise. Write down everything you enjoy and like about the job on one side, then everything you dislike about it on the other. If the 'bad' side is longer than the good, sit down and chat with your employer - maybe you can fix the issues you have.

If you decide to go home for the holidays, pay them back the money they gave you to change your ticket - it's the right thing to do. I hope it all works out for you - God bless and happy holidays!!!

You should give proper notice that you will be quitting AFTER their vacation. If you quit before, you'll have to pay back the plane change fees plus you'll get a bad reference. There is nothing wrong with admitting you are not a good match for this particular family and job but you have to be grown-up and professional about it.
