I was on birth control for four years and I never had PMS. I had clear skin, no cramps, it was great. But I just stopped taking them because I heard a few things about how putting hormones in your body like that for a long period of time can mess things up. And I want to be able to have children in a couple years. After I got off them I looked up some stuff online about it, and I read so many awful things about going off birth control! Which some of the things have happened. Such as major mood swings and bad break outs, but it's different for everyone. So basically I'm saying going on the pill does help, but if you decide to go off of it, it can be crappy. So just make sure you research it or talk to you're doctor about it before just going on them. Good luck!

It should control some of the hormones! You don't say how old you are but if you are very young maybe that's not a good idea to start at a young age. You could try taking some evening primrose oil, which is good for PMT.

Try taking the vitamin supplement Optivite (available from www.kuhar.com). I take two a day and have found that they have helped a lot. Also try getting hold of a copy of Fertility, Cycles and Nurtition by Marylin M Shannon (available from www.ccli.og). It was written for people like you!

Yes, the pill should help with pmt and all that crap you feel before your period. If its severe symptoms, in desperate cases they will prescribe some form of anti-depressant like fluroxetine or one of those.
