Well, before the Christians their were pagans who did more than that and a pagan is an unbeliever, and the worse kind of punishment and the lowest was crucifixion, and the Romans's and others before them did plenty of that, and plenty of it to Christian which they made a sport of. Do you think just because a Christian is a Christian they are to stand around and be gunned down are whatever it is you are thinking. We are not door mats and God was protecting His people from the pagans who were always coming and trying to destroy people who were minding their own business, and trying to live a Godly life. God was keeping sin out of the camp. The people of Shittim were pagans bringing all their evil ways into Israel, which was not to be. They were in their own way taking advantage of God's people, trying to get a foothold into the land. You cannot stand and let people run all over you are their would be no point in living. If one does not stand for something they will fall for anything, and the people were standing for God and evil wanted to prevail and God showed the people what to do to keep sin and the enemy out, it was a warning to others who tried to do the same. That is how it was dealt with then. See, you did not mention who heads were being hung up, nor why they were being hung there? They were evil like our terrorist. Would you let terrorist come to your country and do as they please? Jesus hung on a cross and I don't see you getting in a frenzie over that! No, I would not behead people who do not believe in God and God didn't either, until they came onto others territory trying to cause trouble in someone else country as these people who heads were on a post that is why they were there. God always has a reason why He does things.

It's definitely sickening and unfortunately it's true to human nature. But I have to agree with Space Monkey - death is death, it has no color, no race, no religion, no name. War is a tragedy for both sides involved, you cannot be selective in your compassion for it would be bias.

I agree. Possibly the saddest facet to this is that people want to watch.

Having said this, in America - Land of the Free - people queue to watch executions just the same as they do in Saudi Arabia for public beheadings.

So who is more Godly??

relax,
it's just human behavior. you should be used to it by now.
at least we don't pay to watch slaves getting devoured by lions anymore. did you feel anygrief while watching the invasion of iraq on network tv. did any of those video streams of smart bombs landing on there targets fill you with the same terror that those sniper shots did. i ask that, becasue i'm confused on what the differance is. where those smart bomb video feeds for news or entertainment purposes. and yes innoncent people died. women and children died. imagine the reaction if those video feeds where sold as entertainment in iraq. it would probably envoke the same feeling you have. your not wrong, but you are bias.
would you rather CNN just showed one side of the war. CNN is news flash>>> CNN is not supposed to be entertainment. it's news. snipers shooting americans is news believe it or not. news is not supposed to be sensored. if you want to just see one side of the storey just leave it on FOX. but if you want to see the whole thing, then it's going to envolve learning and seeing things you will not like.
