Why do minority groups insist on handout policies which keep them down?

While minority racial and ethnic groups are busy marching, staging protests and expressing themselves, White men are quietly getting into the professions.

Isnt it time for minorities to turn away from leftist advocacy groups and embrace entrepreneurship, education and higher living standards?

Are these so called minority groups a hindrance to those which they claim to represent? Why does the government and these minority groups treat blacks like retards who are incapable of doing anthing for themselves?

Why do blacks and other minorities support these groups which clearly portray them as idiots in need of government assistance and protection?

Why are rich, educated and successful black people attacked by their own, called race traitors, or not "down" with the brothas and the sistas?

Because the likes of Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson are poverty pimps that get rich by telling blacks that its all the white mans fault that they are poor.

The bottom line, its easy to fail... its tough to succeed.

Because of lack of education (in life) and misinformation. They are slaves to the Democrats and most will continue to be until they pull themselves up by their own economic boot-straps and find that there is a very different world out there than the one they have been taught to believe.

It amazes me how independent and financially successful black persons are expected to "give" back to the black community (i.e., share the wealth). Instead of fostering a culture of self reliance, most black "leaders" instead opt for the culture of dependence on Uncle Sam. How unfortunate.

Promiscuity is also an issue that never seems to get enough attention in the black community. It just makes it all the more difficult to escape from poverty when young unmarried girls are having babies before they themselves reach adulthood.

Your questions are all valid. I would like to hear what Jesse Jackson has to say about all this (without giving us any Don King kind of B.S.)

You make some very good points, and this is an issue I've wondered about for years. I have always believed that the Democrats are all for the handouts not because they care, (if anyone believes that, I have a fantastic bridge I'd love to sell you....) but because it generates an automatic voter base.

As a woman, it really pisses me off that the Democrats think I need some help to get a job. If I can't get a job on my own merits, I don't want it, thanks anyway. Pretty offensive to be told I need help with that. "Party of the People" my ***!

I doubt they consider themselves "being kept down." I think there is a whole subversive mentality that persists, with a rejection of all things "white." Their pride is wrapped up in this.

In order to effect real change, they must buy into the "American dream," "get a piece of the rock," per se.

Without proper educations and social skills, many have no idea how to go about this, and they choose subversiveness as an alternative which allows them some pride.

Right on! I think part of the problem is that their own leaders, like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, the Kings take advantage of their trust by continuing to spread the myth that "Whitey is keeping you down." I believe their leaders continue the lie that "Whitey" doesn't want them to succeed so that these leaders can continue in the role of importance and looked to for answers as well as continue to be wealthy instead of being "just another pastor."

At least, "Whitey" couldn't care less. He complains about the taxes going for generational welfare and watches the news nightly as they kill each other off for reasons that "Whitey" just shakes his head. At best, some try to help until they realize that the idea of victim is so entrenched in the Black community that they actually resent "Whitey" coming into their neighbors and treating them with dignity and respect and expection of success, and we leave. "Whitey" would like nothing more than Blacks to be successful and to assimilate so they would not settle for the conditions in which so many live.

Because there are plenty of succesful black americans who play into the race card in AMerica..this in fact, perpetutates, and perpetuates the dumbing down of our nation..

The disgraceful hypocrisy of these highly successful black Americans is saddening, as it sends a poor message to black youth who look to these men as role models. Rather than emphasizing keys to success, men like these give black youth a ready excuse for failure – racism – even as this racism seems not to affect their own success.

At the heart of their seemingly inexplicable comments, I believe there are two motives. First, these men understand the power of playing the race card.The guys know that many whites are afraid of being accused of racism, and will offer great concessions to avoid that suspicion. Simply put, charges of white racism create fear that keep money, jobs, and power rolling in to these black stars.

Second, being a victim, even to those who are successful, is a difficult temptation to pass up. Being a victim is not only an ego-boosting badge of honor, it also supplies a ready excuse whenever one fails. So these hypocrites hold on to victim status and pass it along to others, because if you can be a victim and cash in because of it, then, hey, why not?

Liberals are dead set on convincing minorities and women that they cannot make it on their own, without the Liberal's help. It is a very condecending attitute, that these groups of people cannot do anything on their own without a liberal's help. Conservatives believe that all men/women are created equal, so everyone has an equal chance

I think many have been brainwashed by Libs & their self appointed "leaders" like Jackson & Sharpton. It is definitely hurting a lot of innocent people a depriving society of the contributions that these people would be making if they weren't under the boot of their "leaders".
