red tail sharks can get quite territorial and will chase off most other fish. They are best in larger tanks with large fish

Redtail sharks are an aggressive bottom dwelling cat fish, they need 55 gallons minimum. They should not be in a tank with other redtailed sharks or with rainbow sharks. They should not be with mollies because mollies need at least a little salt in the water. Catfish can not tolerate any salt in the water. Bala sharks are a streamlined mid dwelling fish that can grow to 14 inches and should be in schools of 6 or more. A 75 gallon would be the minimum to start, but they would need a 150 or larger tank when they started to get bigger. how many mollies are in the 20 gallon? There isnt too much room to work with. you could have 3 balloon mollies and 6 cherry barbs.

Bala sharks grow much larger than the other sharks, like rainbow and red-tails. They are also peaceful and would not go well with aggressive red-tail and rainbow sharks, unless they are in a massive tank. They are best in 55 gallon and above aquariums.

how can you say that red tailed black sharks be on only kept solo, but still put a bala shark in the tank anyway??
i have a red tailed black and would personally love to out another shark in with it, but because so many people stress against it (and quite right too) i chose not to.
read your question again, you have answered it yourself.
