Why do you say "a problem"? I think most homosexuals and a lot of straight people would argue with your characterizing homosexuality as a "problem" in the first place. Getting beyond that major issue with your question, I don't believe that there is any good answer as to the "cause" of homosexuality. There is some evidence for all of these as possibly leading to homosexuality, but I don't think any single one of them is the cause.

I personally believe it is a genetic factor. From as far back as time goes there have been homosexuals and as well there have been those who try to hid, or change or ignore their provocacations, with negative results. Counselling, therapy etc can not change a homosexual into a heterosexual all it can do create acceptance. Many tests have been performed and studies done and yet their is no "cure" for homosexuality becouse it is not a hormonal or psychological problem in fact it is not a problem it is just the way some people are and tolerance for others is what needs to be worked on.

I'm going to have to agree with the previous replys that it is not a "problem". I am a straight female and to me that Insinuates that homosexuality is some kind of medical problem, or disease. Be careful on the wording you choose.

To try and answer what it is your asking, studies have been down on the brain to see if their an underlying physiological difference between homosexuals and their heterosexual counterparts. It has only accounted for 10%. In my opinion, I do believe that there may be a correlation to homosexuality and brain development but I do not believe it to be specific on each individual. I also believe, in some case, your experiences have some part in determining your sexuality. This could be your upbringing as a child, abuse, or social venues. You decide.

gettin above the ethics of ur statement that its a problem is politically incorrect but it is infact not normal because it is not natures way, to go as far as saying its a problem or wrong is not true, there is nothing wrong but there is some scientific research which shows that in most cases there are lower levels of testosterone and higher levels of oestrogens in males who are gay, as theyre main role is sexual development they also have an effect on who we are attracted to.

sex hormones affect the kind of look and attitude and actions of people we are atteracted to

quick example - during their most fertile period, most women feel more attracted to large powerfull rugged men who would appear to give good healthy offspring, however when women are off of their period they go for a more softer looking (not wimpy) gentle caring man who would seem to be a more caring father figure.

it is not a womans choice, she is acting on what her body is telling her.

so to get back to the issue of homosexuals, the research is basically beginning to show that this is the same for homosexuals as they may have slight differences in their feelings towards partners because of what their hormones are telling them. the research does not prove it so dont take my word for it but we should find out soon enough.

so it could be a genetic problem which leads to the hormone problem or it could be a hormonal problem leading from something else.
pschology is controlled by biology in main so it is not as if its a mental condition if thats what u mean.

in all homosexuality is not a disease or mental condition, every single person on this planet has minor hormonal imbalances and science is suggesting that an imbalance of sex hormones may be the answer

hope this helps

specific, you're very incorrect. I guess you wont even examine my respond as to why. Thats the subject. Evolution IS a certainty. A concept is the hows, whens, and whys. A concept would not recommend that something isn't certainty. Gravity is a certainty, yet additionally an concept. a similar with evolution. Edit: enable me clarify this greater. you're on a working laptop or laptop desirable now. you be attentive to that electrical energy is powering your laptop, spectacular? you be attentive to that to be certainty. besides the undeniable fact that, HOW the electrical powered energy is powering your laptop is an concept. Do you notice now? international warming - that's a case that we would quite be risk-free than sorry. the people not even bothering to help the reason are probably dooming destiny generations - desirable or incorrect, provide up being so obdurate and help, only incase. Homosexuality is greater approximately human rights, morality, and a persons' thoughts. have confidence that being gay is a decision in case you have chose, yet do not you dare bypass around persecuting them, or spreading hate, denying them rights, speaking **** approximately them.

It is not a problem at all. There is certainly neither genetic or hormonally related. It is similar to liking the color orange, rather than the color blue. It is not something you decide, it just is.

Let's make one thing clear: Homosexuality is only a problem if they start coming on to ME. Don't ask, don't tell.

And they better stay away from my kids, too!
