YES I HAD A STILLBORN BABY. I WENT TO THE DOCTOR FOR MY SEVEN MONTH CHECKUP AND THERE WAS NO HEARTBEAT. THIS WAS BACK IN 1986 WHEN THIS HAPPENED SO I HAD TO WAIT FOR AN ULTRASOUND BY APPOINTMENT. IT WAS A FRIDAY WHEN I WENT TO THE DOCTOR AND MY APPOINTMENT FOR THE ULTRASOUND WAS MADE FOR THAT FOLLOWING TUESDAY. THE SUNDAY BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT, MY WATER BROKE, SO I WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THEY GAVE ME AN ULTRASOUND AND DETERMINED THAT THE BABY WAS INDEED DEAD. I WAS GIVEN A SUPPOSITORY TO INDUCE MY LABOR. THEY KNEW THAT THE BABY WAS DEAD SO I WAS LEFT IN MY ROOM ALL DAY ALONE TO GIVE BIRTH. I WATCHED MY BABY COME OUT. WHILE I WAS SITTING THERE LOOKING AT MY BABY, A NURSE CAME IN AND GOT VERY PANICKY. SHE RAN TO GET ASSISTANCE AND THEY INFORMED HER THAT MY BABY WAS DEAD ALREADY BEFORE BIRTH. AS FOR MY BABY, SHE HAD LONG BEAUTIFUL HAIR AND SHE WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. HER LITTLE LIPS WERE BLUE. SHE WEIGHED THREE POUNDS. THEY DID NOT HAVE A CAUSE OF DEATH. IT WAS SAID TO BE NATURAL CAUSES. 1986 WAS A VERY HARD YEAR FOR ME. MY BABY DIED IN AUGUST AND MY MOTHER DIED AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER. SHE HAD CANCER. I DID NOT THINK THAT I WOULD MAKE IT BUT THANK GOD I AM STILL HERE.

My cousin delivered an 8 pound baby girl at 8 months. Sadly she never developed one of her little lungs. She was put on a respirator immediately after birth. They took her off the respirator the following day, there was nothing else the doctors could do for her and died within a few minutes. Very sad experience for her to go through. All along she thought she had a healthy baby inside of her. She stills cries about it and I don't think she'll ever get over it.

I am thankful to say that I have given birth to two healthy beautiful children, however my sister cannot say the same. Back in 2000 she was 4 months along when she miscarried and had to have a D&C. She's never been the same since. She has said since then that she doesn't want to try to have kids anymore, despite the fact that she had always wanted kids. I will never be able to understand how she feels about it since I have never experienced it myself, but I do understand the bond that forms before you even give birth and I can't imagine losing that. My heart goes out to all who have endured that pain.

I have been fortunate to give birth to two healthy girls. But when I was a teenager, I was friends with a girl named Stacey. We both partied together. She had a thing for old, married men and eventually became pregnant. Stacey decided she needed this baby (I was hoping she'd choose to put it up for adoption) to feel secure and loved since the father dipped out. I figured Stacey would cut out the partying for her baby's sake. Wrong. She continued smoking pot and switched to Newport Lights. Although she continued in this immature wreckless behavior, I knew deep down that she loved this baby. We were only 17/18 years old. She prepared for this baby by decorating for the baby's room, having a shower and deciding on the name Chandler after her favorite character from Friends. When Stacey was in her 8th month, she began to experience cramping and heavy bleeding. She was rushed to the hospital. I received a phone call from her sister that the baby was dead. Her placenta had broke. But they still had to induce her since the only way to get the baby out was for her to deliver. I couldn't imagine having to go through all the work of labor and delivery for "nothing". She gave birth to a tiny (4 lb) deceased baby boy. She held and rocked him for the longest time. It was the most moving yet disturbing incident I've ever viewed. The doctor's had checked Stacey's blood which came up positive for thc (marijuana). They concluded that the heavy smoke probably caused the breakage of her placenta which led to her baby's death. I haven't spoken to Stacey in 7 years. She has never been the same after the incident. I hope she's well and safe.

A dear friend had an ectopic pregnancy (egg stuck in Fallopian tube). It was terrible for her and she went through the same grief process as if the baby had been born. It's a sad thing to be so joyful that a baby is on the way and have it end sadly under any circumstances.

My best friend lost a baby when she fell down the stairs. She's only 15, so part of her was relieved, but she still sometimes wonders what could have been if the baby hadn't been lost. She cried the other day and told me it would've been a boy. ;_;

My mom gave birth to a stillborn, and she had to deliver at home. It was too icy and the ambulences took too long to her there. I was 12 months old (I'm adopted) and my dad had to care for me. She had to deliver the baby herself. :-(
