Is he one of those emotional ones, if he is, take him on a hike. Men work better if there's a physical aspect of things. Anyway, about a three mile hike, at the end... a picnic; all his favorite foods and his favorite booze shold do the trick. If he's a rough and rowdy guy get him a circular saw (7 and a quarter inches) if he's a techie a new stereo system for his truck or spinners. My guy is a volunteer firefighter. Well, harley put out this knife that had the fire symbol on it. It's got a fire engine red handle. Maybe something like that? A winchester multi tool? Somthing like that. If you're rough yourself, bulid him a small wall shelf and use a plunge router to put his name in the bottom shelf. Finish it with mahogany or somthing dark. Whatever you choose, remember Men value women who are strong enough to work but sensitve enough to take care of them.

A season pass to the local strip club?
Seriously, not all men are the same. It's hard to come up with gift ideas (other than a generic gift card) without a bit more info.

If you really want to show your love and impress him, get him a motorcycle. A Harley, one of those japanese things would be an insult. It is also a gift the two of you can enjoy together.
