My grandma & mum have always made ham with cloves, brown sugar, and pineapple. It's delicious! Plus there's often a small turkey (most of my family prefers ham), cranberry sauce, potato salad, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, mashed yams, turkey gravy, and a couple different veggies.
I'm Canadian, so our Thanksgiving was last month. (Sorry, Faerie, the US is NOT the only country to celebrate - I lived in the UK for a bit too, and they celebrate 'Harvest Festival, which is the same thing- traditionally eating food that has just been harvested)

US is the only country that celebrates Thanksgiving.

I apologize. I wasn't aware that Canada had Thanksgiving as well.

And yet another apology. The UK's version of Thanksgiving is an autumn harvest....Please all forgive me. I honestly was not aware of the other festivities in other countries during this time. I know of Thanksgiving in the US being the celebration when the new people from Europe celebrated their friendship with eh Native Americans (though now it's being said that this story has been glorified to make it sound nice).

That being said, I am making Turkey with matzoh stuffing, mashed potato's, carrots and spinach pie.

We have all the old standby dishes, but have added a couple of our own to the mix. Instead of regular corn, we have homemade creamed corn and rather than regular green beans, we have German green beans. They are sweet and sour green beans with bacon. Basically, we have just fattened up the healthy portions of the meal. It's GREAT!!!
