BETTER TO PARDON HIM, JUST SENT HIM TO JAIL FOR REST OF HIS LIFE.

I do not believe that God takes lives. God deals in souls and gives us the freedom to live our life as we please, even when it does NOT please him.
The most compelling reason I can think of to execute Saddam, is the fact that as long as he lives there will be people killing other people solely for trying to influence his release. If he is executed, then they are forced to move on.
With all the evidence against Saddam, it can be equally said that this is how you MUST govern a people like this, if they are to be governed. Otherwise, they just murder each other on and on.
I certainly don't have the answer to the problem, but I fear that MANY more people will die before it will stop.

Saddam is being killed because he killed right? (and I know he was something like a real life monster But lets simplify it for the time being), so if someone kills him "legally" isn't that also killing. It's like hypocrisy or something isn't it? I know they are trying to punish him for what he did, but they are also making an example of him for future real life monsters. If you are going to dictate and torture hundreds or thousands of people, if you are anywhere that the government can reach you, you know you are going to be judged by a jury of your peers and likely be put to death. That's why they keep religion separate from state, so they can commit sins without a guilty conscious. That's just my opinion and I still admire our country's soldiers for being so brave.

Hanging Saddam would be just. Look at how many people he has killed. He has tried to threaten peace many times and if any one of his citizens opposes him-they die. he is clearly guilty. Dont worry, I think God might have something else in mind after he dies, and it is not 72 virgins.

Not correct. I do not believe any other leader of any country (including Bush) would have behaved any differently than Saddam. His suppressing revolts against him and ordering action against assassination attempts - look quite valid to me. China did the same in Tinanmem Sq. India did the same to suppress Sikh extremists. Pakistan is now doing it to al quaida. Even Bush/US is doing it to Iraqi insurgents.

"I think that only God could take lifes"

hmmmmmmm.......interesting.

I stand by my often stated opinion that Saddam should not be hanged. He should be released. Into an arena filled with the tortured survivors of his murderous regime. What part of "war crimes" don't you understand?

Or maybe he should just be sent to live with the Dalai Lama, for "rehabilitation".

Under Saddam's rule, a lot fewer people died. He kept them in line. No W.M.D.'s No dead American soldiers. And we put him in power to begin with. Iraq posed much less of the threat to the world. But then, where would that leave Halliburton?

Sooner or later, Saddam will receive the consequences for killing many people.

Yes but after doing some research on his crimes, I find it hard to ever accept a verdict that would allow this "man" live. He is our generations Hitler, what he did to the Kurds, his torture methods (hell, he made families pay for the bullets used to execute people), torture with drills and ropes and....you know, he's just sick. I feel those families affected need to see him hung
