How To Remove Skunk Smell
Skunks spray a strong smelling fluid from a gland under their tail. It is a defense mechanism to repel would-be attackers. It adheres where sprayed and can last for many days. The spray is not easily washed away and instead must be neutralized.
Washing or bathing in tomato juice to remove skunk smell is a popular myth. It does have a small neutralizing effect, but is really more likely to leave one smelling of skunk AND tomato juice.
The following recipe is effective at neutralizing skunk odor and can be used on people, pets, tires or any object that has been sprayed by a skunk. Note however, that it contains hydrogen peroxide and can cause skin, eye and mucous membrane irritation. Peroxide can also cause fading or damage to clothing, carpet, paint and so on. If you are concerned about the possibility of damage, test it on an inconspicuous portion of the material. Thorough rinsing with water will help to minimize any fading or damage.
Mix together:
One quart 3% hydrogen peroxide*
¼ cup baking soda
one teaspoon liquid dish soap
* white vinegar can be substituted, but it is not as effective
If washing a pet, keep the solution out of their ears and avoid their eyes and mouth. Wash thoroughly with the solution then rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary. Use the solution immediately after preparation. Do not store unused solution.
Removing skunk spray is most effective during the first few hours after spraying.

You know what, everyone will say Tomato juice but it doesnt work worth a crap, I have lived with dogs all my life and trust me they always find a way to annoy a skunk... there are products you can buy from the pet store like Natural Chemistry Skunks etc but the cheapest most effective way is to use baking soda. It works on everything, upholstry, carpet, and it is safe and non toxic so you can also use it to give your skunky dog a bath and it works wonders!! Just mix it with water into a paste and put it on the skunk smell then shampoo it out.
PS you can also add it to the washing machine to de-skunk your clothes!!

Give your cat a bath with tomato juice. Gets oder off of animals and I think humans also. But your situation calls for vet help because of the eyes. Or call the vet and ask his advise. He may be able to help you over the phone. He'd probably prefer it that way anyway because of the oder. You could try flushing the eye's with warm water. I'm just guessing here of course. Vet may be able to tell you what to use. Good Luck .............. Plug your nose!
