OK I'm back; but I have to think before I answer. The problem with DIY, no offense to you or anyone; is that often the intent is great, the effort strong, but the result sometimes not very successful. Certainly as a DIY this might mean you'd actually have a BASKET; and items and ideas for the "making". It might also assume you actually have someone to GIFT? There is likely; local to you; and agency that deals strictly with such rentals. They are probably better equipped, and may even be extensive enough to rent flowers; food items; shelf life marked products to include in the baskets; and probably even do delivery and pick up. It seems a logical enterprise to me LOL, for Weddings/ and Funerals to name two examples. YOU might even become proficient enough to go into the field yourself? OR you could just NOT give gifts. Ok my two cents. Time to get more coffee and get serious. I have a full day ahead collecting rented landscaping; from real estate that has sold. I need a larger truck however, as reclaiming "lawns" takes up way too much space and time.

yes and if you start a gift basket business suggest you offer a variety of prices and products. don't forget there are a lot of senior citizens out there and you might consider a senior citizen discount and/or discounts if the buy like 3 or more at the same time.

It's a VERY competitive industry. I used to work for a corporate gifting company and we had hundreds of vendors. There's lots of people still doing it, but it's pretty competitive. If you have an "angle" or a niche to fill, you'll do fine, though.

Yes people do still buy them....but I think you need to have a unique idea....don't do the same old stuff like candles, wine, lotions, food, etc......good luck!
