Both of them play music.
The only difference is that the IPod looks fancier, and of course, it has a lot of nice features that a lot of people do not use. If you want to listen to music, you can get a regular mp3 player.

I think the Mp3 is far better but if you are going to use it for misic you will have to get another memory card for it. because you need more when you buy one talk to someone where you are buying it because I really can't tell you for sure on this side my son got one and you can use it for so much more for pics and for the computer daily info . even for game's cost a little high

i reckon an mp3 player, since you can just erase the music when you get tired of it and just add new tunes every time you feel like doing so.
