Do what many girls do. Have your best friend tell him that you like him, and that way if you change your mind, you can always say you didn't say that. Tell your friend what you are going to do so she don't get mad at you. If he likes you too, then he might have the nerve to tell your friend, or at least he will know you like him, and if he does like you, you can expect him to call you, or at least let you know in some way. Boys let girls know when they "like" them in that way. Boys will tease the girls they are interested in, they will tug their hair, give little pushes, find reasons to be around them, and otherwise make a idiot of themselves. Boys show they like a girl by being as annoying as they possibly can be when around the girl. So, if this boy is engaging is such behavior with you then you can rest assurred he "likes' you in a way that is more than friendship. You won't have to ask him about it, he will demostrate it by his behavior.
Now, if he is not behaving like an idiot around you, if he is not pestering you, then he probably doesn't like you in that way. If he isn't doing any of the things I mentioned above, move on to a different boy who may be interested in you in that way. It is really simple to know when a boy is interested, so just watch and look for these signs. You will do find once you can see these behaviors are the normal way young boys show their interest in a girl. As they grow older the behavior does't change much, just becomes a bit more refined.

I would not have a friend ask for you because that shows weekness. Keep on flirting with him and show your feelings instead of telling your feelings. Actions speak louder than words. Good luck.

well ask a friend to ask for you then later you will have to ask him out if he says yes but sometimes the get scared of what otheres might think so i'd ask him if you both were friends first
