It could be a number of things, but one I have run across is that it could be your ignition switch. I know on my '01 Jimmy, there is a bulletin out for a wire in the steering column that can become loose. Do you have tilt steering?

There should be a schraeder valve on the fuel rail. It kinda resembles a tire vavle. Push on that to see if fuel is in the rail. It should shurt out pretty good. Then try to start it and do it again. If it does, then you'll get another spurt. If you've got fuel, then check for spark. Pull a wire and put an inline spark checker on it. They're about 10 bucks at any parts store. If you've got spark then pull a plug. see if its fuel contaminated. If it its, check the gap. If they're overly worn or dirty, your truck wont start. Good luck with this, hopefully it gives you a direction.
