1 gram of salt to 9 mL of water if i'm not mistaken. i forget if 1 gram solid salt is equal to 1 mL of water, but basically, to get normal saline, you have to mix 1 part salt to 9 parts water.

Think about what % means. In situations like this the % NaCl is a mass to volume percentage. In other words, for the first one, if you add 0.9 grams of NaCl to water to make 100 mL of solution, the the concentration of salt will be 0.9%.

By the same reasoning, if you take 23.4 g of NaCl and add enough water to make 100 mL of solution, then the solution will be 23.4% NaCl.

Hi...another nurse is going to tell you.... YES...it is just fine. Might not taste so great...but it is to assist with spreading the benadryl around. Perhaps you are having an allergy or rash in the mouth? Either way, just focus on getting well. A little salt won't hurt you. It will help with healing too. Get well soon.
