The Smithereens - The Blues Before and After. Good stuff, but you can't get more of an 80's sound than the Missing Persons Destination Unknown.
Some other good ones:
Martin Briley - Salt in my Tears
The Flirts - Jukebox (Don't put Another Dime)
The Primitives - Crash
Berlin - The Metro

Too many more to mention. The 80's were a great time for pop music.

"Livin' On A Prayer"- by Bon Jovi
"Sweet Child O' Mine"- by GN'R
"Back In Black"- by AC/DC
"Jump"- by Van Halen
"Pour Some Sugar On Me"- by Def Leppard
"Girls, Girls, Girls"- by Motley Crue

I could go on and on, but these are the ones that I think are the best. I wouldn't really know what everybody liked in the 80's because I wasn't born until the 90's, but I know what I like!

PRINCE! anything by prince...

Motley Crue I liked the first album shout at the devil!

Aerosmith anything by them...

Def Leppard anything by them...

RANDY RHODES! Ugh... It still aches! Ozzy! Dee.

VAN HALEN! WHOO HOO! anything by them...

I was also into Zeppelin and The Stones even though they weren't really eighties. They carried over into the 80's rather well.

Tainted love, love triangle, Dramarama's "Anything" missing persons, aimee mann, bannarama, bow wow wow... culture club.

There are LOADS!

The 80's were an all time low for music. Maybe it was just the beginning of the end.
