There is nothing wrong with them. All it is is the baby practicing breathing. It is perfectly normal, and nothing bad can come of it. no worries.

I've not read any articles on fetal hiccups, but two of my three children had them while I was pregnant. All three children were born and still are extremely healthy.
More than anything else, it was just irritating to me. I wanted to sleep, but my belly had different ideas for about an hour to an hour and a half each evening.

I have had 4 children. All of which had hiccups constantly. I have never had any problem with them and all were born healthy. In fact my daughter is now 30 weeks pregnant with her first baby (a boy) and complains all the time about his hiccups. But she likes to feel them so she knows he's still there....At least you can tell that one of his functions are working properly....

I am 38 weeks and was also concerned about hiccups. I had read somewhere that it was due to an immature diaphragm. I asked my obgyn and he said that if anything it is quite the opposite. The baby is maturing his/her diaphragm by getting hiccups and it is a sign that the baby's lungs are maturing. Our baby gets them about twice a day.

With my second (now 7 months old) it seemed like he had the hiccups all the time, especially towards the end of the pregnancy.
He was fine, it's their little diaphragms getting ready to work outside of the womb.
Congratulations and good luck! :)

my son had hiccups ALL THE TIME! My doctors all said no need to worry just enjoy the experience of carrying your son! Both of my nephews had them, my mom said me, my brother and my sister all had them. So, apparently it seems like something copletely normal. Don't worry! you need to relax and remember every little hiccup you feel showing you how alove your little one is!

I dont think there is anything to be concerned about. When I was preg. with my daughter she had hiccups at least twice a day and there was no problems at all with her. Have you discussed this with your OB/GYN??

No need for concern, they are quite normal. Babies in the womb will also suck their thumbs.
