The human body stores some iron to replace any that is lost. However, continual low iron can lead to a type of anemia. (See iron deficiency anemia.) This is the most common nutritional deficiency worldwide.

The symptoms of low iron include lack of energy, shortness of breath, headache, irritability, dizziness, or weight loss. Other symptoms include pica (the development of an appetite for unusual substances such as paper or clay products) and pacophagia (the development of an appetite for ice).

Food Sources

The best sources of iron include:

Oysters
Liver
Lean red meat (especially beef)
Poultry, dark red meat
Tuna
Salmon
Iron-fortified cereals
Dried beans
Whole grains
Eggs (especially egg yolks)
Dried fruits
Reasonable amounts of iron are also found in lamb, pork, and shellfish.

Iron from vegetables, fruits, grains, and supplements is harder for the body to absorb. These sources include:

Whole grains
wheat
millet
oats
brown rice
Legumes
lima beans
soybeans
dried beans and peas
kidney beans
Seeds
almonds
Brazil nuts
Dried fruits
prunes
raisins
apricots
Vegetables
broccoli
spinach
kale
collards
asparagus
dandelion greens
If you mix some lean meat, fish, or poultry with beans or dark leafy greens at a meal, you can improve absorption of vegetable sources of iron up to three times. Foods rich in vitamin C also increase iron absorption.

Some foods reduce iron absorption. For example, commercial black or pekoe teas contain substances that bind to iron so it cannot be used by the body.

Have you ever had blood work done for any reason, a school physical, donating blood, anything like that??? If you haven't, I would suggest that the next time you go to the doctor, you ask to have blood work done to see if you have low iron. I ended up finding out that's why my hands and feet were always cold when I tried to donate blood in school. I now have to take an iron supplement every day, but it makes it better not being cold all the time.

It dosn't mean that cold feet, hands; dizziness r due 2 iron imbalance. There can b hundreds of causes 4 this.

Get ur Blood, urine n BP checked by a doctor.

If iron is less then it may b due 2 Iron deficiency.

If BP is low then there may b sme circulatory prblem which tends 2 cause Postural Hypotension when u stand up.

Postural Hypotension can b due 2 any type of Shock or Circulatory failure due 2 heart valve damage, CHF, LVF, MI, Oedema, Ventricular Hypertrophy or so.....

Get ur Heart Beats n EEG checked by d doctor....

No need 2 b worried abt that. If u worry, symptoms worsen.
Whenever therz any problem related 2 brain, its controled more effeciently psycologically..

thank u!

The cold hands and feet could be a sign of low iron. I have low iron also and I am always cold. The dizzy and blackout spells sound kind of serious and you might want to have a doctor check you out for that. To build up your iron you could take an iron pill and eat lots of green veggies. Good luck

Certainly sounds like it's a possibility...if so, just eat more iron and see if it helps out...
