I've tried limewire,kazaa,winmx,and maybe a few more but no joy as most mess up pc.

www.itunes.com is very good and won't mess up your computer. It allows you to download podcasts from the computer which you can then transfer to your ipod etc

I like www.download.com. Its legal, and while a lot of the bands are less known, the music is great! :D. Plus they have a lot of software available for free.

Its also worth trying your fave bands websites, I tend to be into less well known bands, but in my case I find that they often have some mp3s etc on thier sites, and again, I have no trouble downloading those.

Of course, none of this relates to file sharing programs..
