I hae been a manager for many years and one thing I was taught is that you can not touch or write anything on an employee's time card without them with their initials. But my husbands compnay is constanty deducting times and other things on their time cards with out their acknowledgement.

It may be a case of double standards. From All-Business:

"Time clock cards are official company records. Because the time clock card system depends on each employee punching his own card and no one else's, most companies make punching another employee's card an offense calling for discharge. However, the company is obligated, as in other rule violations, to prove that an offense has taken place and that the accused employee is the one who committed the offense. "

From what is described in here, it is wrong for OTHER EMPLOYEES to tamper with the timecard -- but it makes no mention of the COMPANY not being allowed to make changes. Your husband may need to get in touch with the Labor Board, or his union rep, if it is a union job.

and you would be right . you can't alter a employee time card with out their knowledge
