yo i might see a sexy white female and try to holla and she acts asthough she didnt even hear a ni%$a speak and keeps on walking whats up with that, and i no i look dam good whats up with that, are you guys raised on desegragation still or what? i mean it takes alot 4 a brotha to build the courage to holla and only to be ignored dam!

I think you will find that, as a general rule, women (or at least quality women) prefer not to find their potential mates by waiting to be "holla-ed at" on the street. Your statement that it takes courage to approach an attractive female is universal, and I can certainly identify with that.

However, you make an interesting statement in your question. You phrase it as if only white females are ignoring your advances. While certainly not meant as an insult, I imagine that if you were to "holla" at the majority of women on the street (white, black, latino, asian, etc), they wouldn't respond the way you wanted them to. The fact that you singled out white girls as the ones that ignore you indicates that you are focused on race, which is exactly what the world needs to stop doing.

If you truly are attracted to white girls, and wish to have a relationship with one, I would suggest altering your approach. Again, not meant as an insult, but the majority of white women do not communicate in the same way that you do. They way that you speak, as evidenced by your typing in your question, suggests that you communicate in a style which is often associated with "gangsters", who are seen by society as uneducated, criminal deviants who also happen to be womanizers. I hope and imagine that you are not this kind of person, but you need to be aware of how you are presenting yourself. Being a 20 something, good looking (so I've been repeatedly told), physically fit, educated white guy with a decent career, I happen to be more closely involved in the "typical" culture that the average younger white female would be a member of. This has allowed me the benefit of seeing what things these girls are typically attracted to. I can say with relative certainty, that the majority of the girls that I know (while many are openly attracted to black males) would not respond well to a "brotha trying to holla at them" on the street. They would prefer to be approached like a lady, with the man (black, white, brown, whatever) acting like a gentleman, not a gangster.

I know that this is a touchy subject, and I truly think that you can be with whoever you want to be with. However, in an effort to answer your question, I was simply trying to point out that it may be your approach, rather than the color of your skin, that is turning these girls off. Good luck.

Some girls find the improper use of the language a turn-off...you know like if you talk the way your writing makes you sound like you talk (yo, holla, ni%$a, brotha)

Marie - the problem with judging any person of any race based on the media is that the media tends to have a racist skew, especially on the television. The chance of a black man being portrayed as a violent criminal is something like 3 times more likely than a white man. It's not that white men don't commit crimes, because they do. It's just a matter of what the media chooses to print/air, what people choose to see, and what supports popular ideas/misconceptions. In addition to the fact that many crimes are a direct reaction to a life stressor. If you see a black man and you think bad, that's just bad research. Black men are not inherently bad or violent or anything; people are what the society they live in make them.

As for answering the question, in my experience, women of any color don't always like to be holla'd at. Maybe a new way to approach women should be in the works?

EDIT: Are you asking for black men to just try to act like a white man, oldncrabby? THAT is disrespectful. That is assuming that white people are somehow better in the way they act, which they aren't. Act like a respectful white man? Please. Why not act like a respectful man? White men aren't inherently respectful or nice, either. Some of the creepiest men I've ever seen are white and they didn't dress well, either. Way to enforce the whitening of culture by insisting that racial diversity is great as long as they act white. Genius.

Sounds like it may be your attitude that is the prob or maybe you are just yelling out to girls that are taken or aren't attracted to you or are afraid of you. It happens. I bet girls would be more responsive if you approached them with a sweet line, instead of hollering out "Hey, Sweet A**" or something like that...which has been my experience with guys on the street. Oh and by the way, if you are driving....keep your head in your vehicle and eyes on the road not hanging out the window looking back at a girl drooling on yourself...yes, I have seen this too. I'm a white girl, and I'd definitely date someone of a different race if they spoke intelligently and acted like a mature adult. Someone who says he tried to "holla" at someone is probably not someone I'd be interested in. I know people want to appreciate and celebrate their heritage, but ebonics in my eyes is simply poor grammar and a ridiculous so-called language. People talk about black people "acting white" when they can actually formulate an intelligent sentence. It's so sad.

Maybe you are just addressing the wrong type of white women. Maybe the women whose attention you are trying to catch don't think they can relate to you. Before trying to "holla" at them, find out a little about them, where they like to go or eat, what their interests are, and how they like to be addressed. It's the same for all women, find out their likes and dislikes and go from there. Once you have caught her interest start showing her the things you like and introduce her to your life. If you still don't click, then it wasn't meant to be.

Desegregation has nothing to do with it sounds to me your not speaking the same language. Its all about communication, learn to speak a woman's language and you'll have no problems regardless of age, race, or religion. Right now you sound uneducated and like you watch too much MTV. Women respect class
