Why is everybody wearing mini skirts with leggings?

I hate the way it looks, even if it's "in style."

ok 1st off it looks great and whats so ugly about it it makes your legs look thinner and you wont go around with a short skirt in the winter freezing your butt off

Most women just buy what is in the store, without any individuality of mind. I'm glad you hate it.

This style was 'in' back in the 80's among women and phased out in the early 90's. The fashion industry's main audience is the young girls who never knew these styles are nothing but recycled thrash, so to them this thing looks hot and fresh.

Girls usually prefer to be accepted by others before being accepted by themselves, so if it's in, they buy it. In the fight for a sense of individuality, a girl might create a wear that's suited for themselves, but if others like it, they wear it too, and BAM!

Clones!

That's the fashion industry for you: they see a hit coming up, steal the idea, and sell it. Hence it's in the store and people buy it, so they can belong (to a girl's attempt to get away from the same thing).

At least it makes sense if you look at it (upside down lol)

It looks stupid, but it's useful if you want to wear a skirt but it's cold out. The leggings keep your legs warm and cover any problems you might be having. That's also the reason why girls wear jeans with skirts.

That's the trend for shorties(such as myself) these days.
That's only way u can wear skirts w/ tennis shoes.
Love or hate. It just depends on what fits your sence of style. Like, I hate it when I see pple dressed like goths. It's just big time ugly in my oppion. So,to me they're not such big trendsetters like that think are.

I guess it is like the "jap style" where ppl are J-pop and everything? then they feel that it is something new and thus try it. it looks good on some people but horrible on others. so try it at least once to know if it is nice on u. I tried once and i feel that it is sort of funny and uncomfortable. so i didnt continue the trend after that. hahas.

You know that's a question I've been asking myself since it came back. I don't understand it at all. I think it's absolutly hideous. I think people just do it because they see other people doing it, it's a disaster. If the fashion industry came out and said wearing underwear on your head was cool, I'm sure you'd see lots of girls doing it- they believe anything. If I worked in the fashion industry I'd probably say something crazy like that was cool just to see if it worked and then I'd be satisfied haha.

It's to be more modest. Before the new trend of leggings, girls would walk around with these micromini skirts showing all their business. That's pretty trashy. The new look with leggings is much more fitting for respectable females.

Probably the same reason the people in the 80's wore the clothes they did everyone is trying to be outrageous or different but in trying to do that everyone ends looks the same.

Thank you. I agree too. I can't stand that look. It annoys me. Either legging or skirt not both. I hope that style goes away soon.

Cause its kind of cute. Besides, its nice cause now fat chicks wear them with mini skirts so you don't have to see their "cottage cheese" legs. Sorry to be rude, but its true. They shouldn't be wearing mini skirts at all though.
