does anyone have unusual not everyday names for your children and do you find it annoying when people say you called them what????

My friend has a girl called Morgan & another friend of mine has a son called Caleb!

I thik unusual names are better these days, as who wants their child going to school being called "James" and there being 5 other boys called James in their class??

My name is Terra, I dislike it when it is pronounced Tara.
My daughters name is Carissa, everyone loves the name, not often pronounced wrong but often spelt incorrect.
My sons name is Brendan (that year it ended up being a popular name) he is often called Brandon and he doesn't like that at all.

I kind of like having a different name, sets a person apart from others. But if you have a different name you have to understand people will ask for the spelling and often pronounce it incorrectly.

My oldest daughter's name is Talyn Vihara. We wanted a name that would make her truly unique, but not something bizarre like Apple or Pilot Inspektor that you are seeing come out of Hollywood these days. We also took her name apart in many ways to make sure that you couldn't make any nasty nicknames out of it, and so far the only nickname anyone has come up with is "Tay-Tay," which I can live with. We think it is a name that makes her unique, but will also serve her well as an adult.

I wanted to call my daughter Charisma but her dad wouldn't let me!
I liked Mason as well, and Beauty. My husband is from Albania and the girls there have the most gorgeous names- Klara, Sophia, Lirie(said Lur-Ria), Seema, Alma. I have been cursed with the most boring common name ever-JO, and I if I had been born five days earlier on the 4th of July my mother would have called me Liberty, I really wish she had!

My goddaughter's name is Nola and I have had people say, what did they name her that for? Rude, but I try not to let it bother me. We get lots of compliments on it too and it least she won't have to deal with having 5 other Nolas in her kindergarten class. As a Jen, I know all too well that a common name can be rough too.

these names are not too unusual, but a lot of people don't like the fact that the names are all A's.

i don't have children yet but i LOVE names that are not used very often. One of my favorite names is Eponine, from Les Miserables. anyway when i announced that i wanted to name one of my future children that everyone just stared at me like i was crazy. I think that it's a beautiful name and honestly i wish that my parents had named me something as unique as this.

I don't know if they are unusual by your definition...but Braiden Elizabeth for a girl and Garrett Micheal for a boy. I've never had anyone question their names in the way you describe.
