It was the other way round. Aussies could never manage to handle Saurav's verbal strategies.

The easiest way to beat the Ausssies is to get underneath their skins.

1. In the home series, India routed Australia - Ganguly simply kept irritating the overated Steve Waugh - he never was on time for the toss and did everything to show that Waugh never even existed.
2. In the tour to Australia, Ganguly kept going at Waugh. At Brisbane, Waugh got out handling the ball, his sycophant got run out to sacrifice his wicket. And Ganguly scored a century. He followed things up with delaaaaaaayed declaration in Sydney, wisecracks that poked fun at Waugh.
3. in the last ashes tour, Fletcher did the same. Ricky Ponting's run out and his screaming at Fletcher was Ganguly-like-tactics.

The moment you see a frustrated Aussie captain - irked by non-cricketing reasons, or excessive sledging by the aussies, you can safely assume that the series has gone out of Australia's hands.

UNDOUBTEDLY. You can call this a counter strategy, whereby he pulled the rug from under their feet by giving them a dose of their own medicine. And comparisons are bound to arise with the present dour faced skipper and a team shivering on its legs even at the sight of an Aussie newcomer.

There is no one in the current Indian team who can talk to Aussies with eyes on their eyes. This is quite awesome that McGrath targets a superstar in the present Indian team and he gets him early. This is sheer fear of the aussies. Had Dada there this couldn'd be happened. What can one do, its all depend on another Aussie gentleman.
