You may think you're ready for pointe shoes but it's very crucial that your feet be strong enough to support body weight with no rolling out or sickeling in relevee. Your teacher will assess this carefully. Once she/he has given you the okay make certain that she suggests what kind of shoe to start training in.

I usually have my students in Capezio's Pavlowa for a year or so then graduate to Contempra, Nicolini or Ariel. A proper fit is SO important and your teacher will want to inspect them before any ribbons and elastics are sewn on. Good luck.

I have been doing point since i was about 11 its my 3rd year now, but you will know your ready for pointe shoes when your ankles are strong enough...especially your legs too...if you can balance.. i mean really balance good on your toes without wobbling you should be able to do pointe... its not easy though until you do it for a while. Really if your teacher tells you that your ready... then your ready.

you have to be at least 11 to start being en pointe because the bones in your feet have to harden and your ankles have to be strong enough. this is my first year of pointe and i'm 13, don't be in a hurry because i've learned the hard way that if you hurry with pointe shoes injures will come. good luck and keep on dancing!

later!

I would wait until your teacher tells you so....

without seeing you knowing your age etc i can not tell.

Ask your teacher it maybe sooner than you think.

Remember going on pointe without expert advice may damage your feet then you will not be able to dance at all.

Just ask
