Last night's episode on BBC 3 at 10pm to be precise. My husband and I watched it from beginning to end but never discovered what the 'unseen' forces were in the woods etc. Did we miss something happen as the ending seemed very much based on 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre' ie the cannibals. Also, was anyone else surprised that Gwen & Owen got together as from the first episode I thought Gwen was going to end up with Jack, even though she has someone waiting for her at home (when she is not at work in Torchwood).

Hey, I watched Torchwood last night cuddled up to my gorgeous sexy wife!

I didn't get the unseen things either...they seemed to move really quickly across the screen, and my money was on them being werewolves.

To me, the episode was a bit like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, with Predator thrown in too, and with the reference to a "harvest" every 10 years, I thought about Jeepers Creepers.

I think Torchwood is an excellent program. Last weeks, about the Fairies, was unpleasant. I think the mix is just about right. Last nights was the most scary so far I thought, because the "monsters" were just normal people.

I don't get the Gwen / Owen thing either. He obviously wants to bone her, and I bet she lets him later...but I bet Jack has a go too.

I really enjoyed this episode, but it was unusual for the series and the genre as there were no supernatural or alien forces at work. People have compared it to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but personally I thought it was closer to a cross between the Hills Have Eyes, Deliverance and The Wicker Man.

It was a very unnerving episode because it was about the sickness of humanity and killing for fun which is so disturbing because it is possible, and it is too close to home - the people were bigger monsters than the aliens.

And I was also a bit surprised that Gwen and Owen got together, although the signs were there with that rather enthusiastic snog in the morgue. Personally, I'd rather have seen her with Jack, but he's a bit too much of an enigma right now. I also suspect that Jack would rather see himself with her too - that may cause ructions later.

All in all, I think that this was the best episode in the series so far, which is ironic as it was the only one that didn't involve aliens or their technology. I hope they keep up this standard as I was slightly disappointed by earlier episodes and was hoping Torchwood would fire up - it finally did.

As fare as I understood the unseen forces were the humans and the reason Gwen did not understand them was because they where humans and did not have a straight forward need for killing all these people and eating them. See, that's what inbreeding does to you :-). I still think she will end up with Captain Jack as he seems to want her but right now she is in a vulnerable state and Jack is just a bit on the cold side for her so she turns to Owen because he has a humane side that Jack does not have.

i watched it i love torchwood. "it's like doctor who but with more shagging." basicaly there was a village of people and every ten years the go on a hunt and kill passers-by and eat them and then leave the charkus somehwere. no aliens just human that was why it was so weird. and not really suprised they got together they have had chemistry since about three episodes ago. but at the begining it was looking like jack might have a look in. jack obivously likes or maybe loves gweyn and tosh likes or loves owen. can't wait to see how it folds out. maybe you should watch it again on wednesday at 9pm on bbc2 and see if you can get the gist of it. good luck.

I think they were only "unseen" as we didn't actually see the cannibals in action. As for John Barrowman as Jack, any ladies out there think he's cute. Yes I know he's gay!!!!

each and every thing about Robin Hood is ideal, except for the actor playing the Sheriff. each and every thing about Torchwood is ideal, except for the unnecessary Oriental fowl. purely time will tell it really is the more effective! yet in the journey that they switched the actor playing the sheriff with Alan Rickman, then it would want to be Robin Hood!
