now when she goes it is more pasty and you can see by her face when she goes like she pushes it out its not hard just soft pasty.is this ok for a 6 day old thankyou.

as long as it is not like little rocks or watery it is normal.

Was she breastfeeding when her stool was watery? If so and you want to breastfeed, you can go back to breastfeeding. Formilk is high in sugars and can cause a watery stool if you don't feed her long enough on one breast she doesn't get the hind milk which makes her stool a tiny bit thicker.

If she was on formula and was changed to soy then that may be okay but make sure with your doctor. My first son who was nursed and formula fed used to turn red and show that he was pushing. My second who is nursed doesn't; even now that he's older 14 months he still doesn't appear to be pushing with his harder stools ( still soft cause he is nursed as well as fed).

ye sit is because they have to get use to everything that they have to do and they are not use to useing them muscles in their body but if the gas keeps uppppp and whineing and hard stools and all i would switch to similac aleminton advance that worked for us and the soy milk did not and we tried everything but it also takes two weeks for formula and all to adapt tp the body

this is good..dont try to overanalize these things,your Dr. has LOTS of experience with this stuff,and now there are a lot of good products to keep baby happy/healthy.also read and keep Dr. spocks book on baby and children,it is the best advisor for new families there is
