We live in England and want to know the temperature's that you need to have by law..for example working---if you work and the temperauture is below a certain level you have the rights to down tools..what about rest homes.nursing homes.prisons.childrens nursarys. hospitals.schools.

All know that in some hospitals we can where a different type of uniform if the temp in the ward goes above 25 C. 'Downing tools' is a definite no no!

There is a minimum temperature below which you will be sent home from a place of work. There is, however, no maximum. That's the UK for you...

If you do most of your work sitting down it's 16C. If you work standing up, or walk around (for example, meat packing, where it has to be cold) you should be provided, free of charge, cold enviorment clothing. Hoeever, if you are a driver/motorcycle rider then it's too bad.

there is no maximum (crazy i know!) but the minimum is 16 degrees C.....
