What is the best way to avoid blowing fuses in Christmas lights?

I put a few strands together and the fuses is blowing.

Can there be a method to use to determine, how strong a fuses can withstand?

Yes read the instructions on lights you buy. Also you can go to a larger fuse but you got to know if you wires and system will take it without burning your house down.
Over all I suggest is you going to run a whole lot of lites on a circuit then run a special circuit just for them that way you know it will hold up to the service needed. Get a good Electrician to install this circuit for you is best.

Read the instructions on the lights you have. Most say 3 strands, but 4 usually work.
