I am very interested in Bollywood and would like some information about it.
I have only seen in on tv and in movies. I am interested in the costumes the music and the culture. Where did it originate from - what part of India.
I wish to know as much as possible - I plan on taking a trip there and would like to know first hand experience from those who live it.

The Indian film industry is big very big,
The bollywood is quite famous, it"s origination is Mumbai mainly Hindi
Taking the Indian cinema in general i wld say that the Hindi and Tamil cinema revolve around the globe

Bombay is the place for biggest Indian Cinema called bollywood.
you can feel the life as live wire there.
People sleep in day time & life start in evening.

bollywood is in mumbai,and got the b from the old name bombay,so hollywood in the states and bollywood in bombay,i think.
