Perspective. Women love to play the victim card. Men just deal with stuff.

Either way would be considered verbal abuse depending on what is said. If the woman is calling the guy stupid, dumb, a waste of time, etc.. then it's not only chewing the guy out but it's also verbal abuse and the same goes for men who speak to women like that. It's only abuse if the man physically or verbally abuses the woman, making her feel little and like they're not worth anything.

Bitching & Griping at one another is considered verbal abuse from both parties. Neither party likes it but they are both chewing eachothers butts out. If the woman feels that her husband is verbally abusing her and she thinks that all she is doing is chewing his butt out then she should realize that she is abusing him with her words as well. I think that the reason why they call it abuse when the man does it is because abusing women is much more common then women abusing men. Because most of the time when a man verbally abuses a woman he is also physically abuses her as well.

Men get physical when you talk about things they don't want to hear. Is unfortunate but true. A woman will talk of things that matter for her and the family and sometimes the man I think feels overwhelmed and how they take it out on you can be painful. It then becomes abusive verbally and physically. The woman may become verbally abusive but most likely was made to be by him. I have walked away from a couple of situations myself.

There is a far cry between getting griped at and being abused. We are all guilty of griping on occasion but belittle-ling their partner by threatening, bullying and mentally abuse their spouses are way out of line. Male or Female!!!

getting chewed out is abuse too. it is verbal abuse and after a time can become mentally abusive as well. so their is no difference, besides the terminology.

A wife should never "chew him out"......that is disrespectful, and men want respect.

Also, a Husband should never "Chew her out"......a woman wants to be loved, and that is not love.

No one should ever be yelling unless the house is on fire.

The difference is in who has the preceived power in the relationship. Commonly because men are stronger, they are considered to be the ones in power. Those in power can not abuse that power.
