California is one for sure, and I am guessing that states like Nebraska, Iowa, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Wyoming, Montana, and Oregon, have not because generally these states are more populated by white's, or hispanic's. Sorry, I looked for a link, but couldn't find one on this issue.

There have been only a four states that have had African-American governors.
Louisiana - Pinckney Benton Stewart Pinchback December 9, 1872 to January 13, 1873
Virginia - Lawrence Douglas Wilder 1990 to 1994
Maryland - Michael S. Steele Lieutenant Governor
Massachusetts - Deval Laurdine Patrick (Governor elect)
There are far too few, but it is getting better.
Take care,
Troy

I know Pennsylvania is one. I tried to change that in the last election, but the incumbent won overwhelmingly. I hope Lynn Swann doesn't give up. I'd vote for him again!
