For many positions, a few years of good experience is superior to a fresh degreed graduate with no experience. I work in technology and someone with experience plus a few industry certifications beats a candidate with a degree any day.

You need on the job experience, even if it is an unpaid apprentice type position. Talk to some experienced professionals in your field and ask for their advice on the best way to beef up your resume.

Experiance offers more than excelent theoratical knowledge. It offers practical knowlege and wisdom to handle business situations. Freshers tend to make much more mistakes than the experianced onse. Mistakes costs alot for an organisation.

Most of the companies try not to take burden of training employees just to avoid the extra budget and headach. So they prefer experianced ones.

Lots of companies have no need for fresh out of school people.

On the other hand some companies always take new people with no experience and train them and put them to work.

Some companies have mix bag of people some experts and some novice.

In that respect they hire according to their need only.
