Q:- Are annual average salaries (e.g 5 lakhs/annum or 6 lakhs/annum ) quoted by respective B-Schools exaggerated ?? Is the Cash-in-Hand component ONLY 60% of the salary quoted by these B-Schools ???????

yes the annual package and take home salary are different

It depends on the school. Most will tell you that their figures are correct. These figures are usually just salary. Any annual bonuses or signing bonus are usually olisted in sszeparate columns. But just because they list an average salary - it still means that you have to go out and get your own job and negotiate your salary with your potential employer - the school won't do the work for you.

they are giving a safe and conservative estimate

IT ALL DEFINITELY DEPENDS ON YOUR COLLEGE FROM WHERE YOU ARE OUT.
SOME POOR M B A S' ARE working for 50 k p.a.too
