Is there a way to completely delete them or do I need to get a new hard drive. These sites are poping up all the time. I hate the porn sites. I am afraid that someone would think that I was the person looking at that crap. And I do mean crap. I beleive some of it is illegal. Thanks

If sites keep popping up, that doesn't sound like the computer is full of porn. Instead, it sounds like the computer is full of spyware/adware and probably viruses that's making porno sites pop up. People put videos or pictures on their computer, they don't set their computer to pop up with porn sites.

#1 You have to have an anti-virus and a firewall in this day and age. You also need a spyware/adware scanner.
Here's 3 of the best free ones available (they work and they won't cost you a penny).
AVG anti-virus
ZoneAlarm Free firewall
Ad-Aware SE spyware scanner
Go to http://www.download.com to find them, or just search on the internet for them.
If you haven't had any of them running on your computer, you need to scan your entire computer with the anti-virus and then the spyware scanner. You have to keep a firewall and anti-virus running at all times except in extreme circumstances.

If there really are pics or videos of porn on your computer, you can find them by going to the START button (bottom-left) and clicking on search. Search for videos and put in *.* as your search criteria. It will pull up every video on your computer so you can view and delete them. Same thing for pics, except search for pics instead and put in *.*

If you are considering buying a hard drive then it is safe to assume you have a windows cd.
You should reinstall windows thus formatting your hard drive. There is probably some weird virus in it that has pop ups from some sites he viewed.. That is probably the easiest way and to save your money.
If you want to spend a little with holiday season coming up you could buy a new hard drive for relatively cheap.

Basically if its full of porn I'd get rid of it, it could have been used in previous credit card fraud and so forth on the web I'd get rid of it if I were you...

I wouldn't keep the thing if its full of that stuff god knows what has been used on it mind you it would have to have been registered to someone you could take the pc to the police and say what they say....

It could just be minor though if its anything else you need to format the machine and install a new version of windows on it basically for the mean time and get rid of the stuff on it by completely wiping the os and re installing windows and then installing new software to run on the machine...
