I'm a female. But if I was in that man's shoes, I would not take that lightly. How can she be such a con?!

Then I would sue for custody of the child. How do I know if she will look after the child being a liar that she is. She is just a bad person all round.

I would be ashamed to call her my friend if I were you. There's nothing wrong with him not using protection. He had the knowledge that she wouldn't fall pregnant. He was just decieved. Period.

What that woman did is selfish and thoughtless. It's the child who is the victim in this.

The bottom line is it does not matter who lied about what, there is a child who deserves a Mum and a Dad. The woman's actions are inexcusable, however your friend still has a child, no matter what the circumstances. He should have taken it into his own hands and worn a condom to protect himself against disease and against women who lie. I hope it works out for him and he realises that he still has been given the gift of fatherhood and that he doesn't waste it or let the child suffer because it's Mother is a devious liar. Good luck to him.

It was a deceitful move made by the mother not the child. The child is innocent and regardless if a lied was told, that is his child. The lie although, should not been done, is not the issue now. The person has a child now and that is the real issue. To tell you the truth, if your friend was dead set not to have children, he should have asked for documentation that she had the procedure just like I don't believe when someone tells me that they are not HIV positive, I want to see proof because you can't be too careful nowadays.

This is sad...
He is responsible.

She's a ***** for lying but he slept with her and "they" made a kid together.
Because she is a liar, get a paternity test. Make sure that the "said" father is the "real" father.

Until you get the test results assume that kid is yours and don't let it suffer because it has a ***** for a mother. Take care of that baby like a good father should.

Secondly.... Since she has lied about being able to get pregnant she may have lied about having AIDS or any other STD out there.
Get checked ASAP....

There are worst things in life than an unwanted pregnancy.

In an ideal world he should not be held responsible.. too many woman "pretend" or "lie" Many women want kids and will be scheming enough to do anything to have them.
the other scenario is when they deliberately get pregnant saying their independent and dont want the father around etc.. then as soon as they feel the pinch financially they harrass the man and get csa involved when the poor bloke didnt even know he was a father.
The other option of course to shut the women up is to agree to pay for the kid but also file for full custody, claiming she's an irresponsible and unfit mother. if he wins claim maintainance from her.

IF YOU CANT FEED EM.... DONT BREED EM!!

yeah. i like that. sticking up for the one innocent, the child. look, there are several wrongs being committed here. it was wrong for her to lie about it and seemingly trap him into a situation. it was wrong for the guy to just assume pregnancy couldn't happen regardless of what she said. sometimes the surgery fails. (tubal) if she just had them tied, not cut, it is my understanding that there is a minute chance of possible pregnancy. the fact that it takes two people to make a child (in this case, it actually being two people performing the act that could result in pregnancy and not through some artificial means) requires that two people be responsible for the outcome of said act. the only reason anyone could look at such an outcome and the responsibility of it falling only onto the mother of a child in such a case, is because the mother physically carried the child and birthed it. it's viewed as if this guarantees 100% responsibility on behalf of the softer sex for all children. the bottom line is, the child received half of it's DNA from the father. the responsibility falls half and half if you ask me. it's absolutely cruel to deny your own children the parenting you owe them. to think that, after creating a child, accidently or otherwise, one's life can remain unchanged is a lie. to attempt to seek an unchanging course is irresponsible, immature, rash, terrible and cruel.

It sounds really sad. All she has done is made someone miserable by lying to them, ruined a young kids life already and the father will resent her for the rest of his life. It is not fair on the man or the child and she should have acted differently.

Legally who knows, the courts make an *** of themselves around issues like this and the idea of 'fairness' will not really come into play I bet. Sad situation imo. Not all women are like that so do not tar us all with the same brush though.

that is the problem with lies, a man could try to trust a woman but the woman could deceive him. I say she is no friend anyway. He needs to see his lawyer. He could use a reflective time to evaluate what a "friend " really is to him. This friends with benefits thing is a way for people to get out of their responsibilities per say the woman get pregnant.

She was totally wrong to lie,BUT a child has been born and needs to be looked after, even if the father wants nothing to do with the child it is not the kids fault that his mum is a lieing c*w

In a word, yes.

And if I was that man, I would WANT to make sure I looked after my child's welfare. I would kill or die for either of my children.

It should also be the same if it were the man who lied to the woman and said "Don't worry, I've had a vasectomy".
