I will breathe a long sigh of relief, marred only by the continued realization that SOMEHOW he got re-elected, and, as a result, tipped the balance of the Supreme Court far to the Right. This is the one power a President has that has the potential of screwing things up for generations to come. I will, however, fly the Stars and Stripes on 1/20/09.

I don't think anything much is going to change. Bush made some mistakes. Show me any other president that didn't. I'm tired of listening to everyone bash the president. He has done some incredible things during his term. Unemployment is way down, our economy is pretty strong.

I hope for a brighter future, but I don't think changing political parties or chair warmer in the white house is going to change much.

Under Bush, this country has taken several steps backward. I am looking very much forward to new leadership that can take us forward in a direction this country should and needs to be moving.

I am excited the the election process of the US government works as it should, and the Constitution has limits on the terms of any president. It shows that, no matter what your political view, the system works and should be emulated by all nations.

I am glad it's over, but it's kind of like the end of a big hurricane - what a mess we have to clean up!

The day Bush leaves office, I am throwing a party. No kidding. I will celebrate the end of the most divisive, damaging, inept, clueless, arrogant, and selfish presidency I have ever had the misfortune to have to live through.

It really doesn't matter who's president. New leadership is nothing more than old leadership that got kicked out years ago because they were just as imcompetent as Bush. People have a short memory.

The long national nightmare. That's what the history books are already calling the Bush years.

yes, not soon enough for me.

There is still a significant chance for him to do more and worst damage than he's already perpetrated.

He can attack Iran or take away more civil rights or pass laws favoring big oil over damage to the environment.

I wish there was some way to keep him away from any decision the presidency can make.
