I've had a flash drive puke on me before. The drive may have gone bad.
One thing to try is using a USB v1.0 port. Most drives are now v2.0 compatible and most port are 2.0.
My drive that failed still could transfer data to a 1.0 port, I used a old 1.0 usb hub to get it into the lower mode.
I also lucked out, the USB drive was under a 1year warranty. It was replaced for free. Check the manufacturer's web site.

I have a friend who just had this happen on his flash drive. Unfortunately, I don't have good news for you. My friend's drive was analyzed by a technician and they said that the firmware or the little startup file that is usually on the drive to tell it to be recognized was damaged and irrecoverable. As a result, the unit had to be thrown away and replaced.
You can try to take it over to a computer repair shop and see if they have any tools (software utilities) that can read the drive and see what is wrong. At the very least, they may be able to get any valuable data off the drive.
It is important to note that the drives can easily be damaged if you do not use the option to "Safely Remove USB Hardware" at the bottom right corner of the Windows screen. My friend told me that he always uses that option, so maybe his unit just got zapped by a static charge.
Hope yours has better luck.

Plugged your flash drive at the back USB port to isolate some power issue then try to see if does show under Disk drives on "my computer" icon right click on it then left click on manage. and also see under USB controllers if theres a yellow exclamation mark if there is uninstall the flash drive with the yellow exclamation mark, then restart the computer or right click on USB controllers then click "update for hardware changes" Try it on a windows XP O.S. After that try to format the removable drive that correspond to your flash drive.

If it's working on other computers, like your computer at home, maybe you just need to remap the drive that it's reading on the computer. That worked for me at the office. If it's not working on any computer at all, check to see if the prong is bent in. Hopefully, you haven't destroyed it. If there is data you need on it, take it to a computer repair shop and they may be able to retrieve it for you. Otherwise, just buy another, they are pretty inexpensive and try to be more careful.

it will be a fault with the drive then its gubbed if it can't be detected on other computers dependant on which os the computers are using you have used it on and whether their networks can administer the drive it could be because if you have tried it on a networked computer area you might not it working correctly becuase it has been filtered out by the administrator there are multiple reasons...
