what goes into the quality of a cd player that makes the playback good?

It's all internal electronics. Did you know that the regular RCA jacks you ust to hook up amplifiers make a difference in your sound. Always go with the the RCA jacks that have the gold plugs. I can't remember the name of the company anymore, but there used to be a company that used only gold plated connectors inside of its amp's and stereos because it somehow affected the sound. It's like asking what is the difference between Blu-Ray and regular DVD.

A CD player utilized 16bit digital audio. There is no way that a $2000 player sounds "so much better" than a $200 player. You were told it sounds better, the price indicates superior quality, so your brain thinks the sound is superior. It isn't.

Because the chips and meaterials in it are way better and can do many more things than a $200 one.

In this world you get what you pay for. The more expensive machine uses better components.

it really doesnt, its just that you spent an outrageous amount of money on something that you dont really need, and want to convince yourself that it was worth it.
