you would like to be able to predict it....and people who called themselves psychics will tell u what happened and make excuses if it is different than what they predicted but in the end, why do u wanna predict what hasn't happened yet or can be changed with your daily actions

No.

Analysis by: Ramesh Madesiah (ramesh_madesiah@yahoo.com)

Argument why it is not possible:

ASSUMPTION: SUPPOSE IT IS POSSIBLE TO PREDICT FUTURE.

Let us say I can predict future.

Consider an event: winning lottery numbers.

By assumption, I can predict future and so I know the next lottery
winning numbers and I know if I am going to be the winner or not.

Without losing any genarality, take the case where I am not the winner.
Now I have two choices: (1) I can buy the winning numbers and thereby change the future, or (2) I decide not to affect the future.

If I decide to change the future, then my earlier prediction that
I am not the winner is wrong. So, assumption is incorrect.

Only if I go with choice # 2, my assumption will be correct.

So, if I always chose NOT to affect the future, only then my
original assumption that I can predict future can be right.

So, we are saying "I can predict future, but I cannot change it".
This, essentially, is no different than saying "I cannot predict
the future", because in both cases the end result is same: No event of the universe is changed in any way. So, whether you know the future or not is totally immaterial.

Nope. Suppose you stand a card on its edge so it stands straight up. If you knew the exact position and momentum of every random air molecule that hit it, you would be able to predict which way it will fall over. But how would you measure every air molecule without disturbing the air? Its called Heisenburg's uncertainty principle, and it also has to do with the wave-like nature of matter that is explained here: http://www.quantumintro.com/

Because you can never figure out exactly where all the particles are, you can't predict which way the card will fall. Some say that the card actually falls both ways (or at least that's what the equations indicate), but lands with each face up in a seperate universe! Yes, I meant what I said, and no, I'm not a crackpot. Both ways up, and each possibility in its own plane of existence. Its called multiverse theory. After you're done with the intro to quantum mechanics, this will make interesting reading:
http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/qm-manyworlds/

And if you feel a little lost about the idea of superposition:
http://www.phobe.com/s_cat/s_cat.html

And if you want (slightly indirect) proof:
http://quantumiscool1.ytmnd.com/

So you might be able to predict the set of possible outcomes (card goes left or right) but not which path you personally will wind up upon. You don't really have free will because there are a finite quantity of possible sets of action you can take, but you have a convincing illusion because all possible versions of your actions exist somewhere in the multiverse. No one ever knows what you will do next!

Weird, huh?

The probability of a given consequence from modern-day circumstances could be customary. The accuracy of the prediction relies upon on how plenty is widely utilized with reference to the modern-day circumstances and how a approaches into the destiny you prefer to foretell. for hassle-free, short term predictions, like no count number if a dropped merchandise will hit the floor without being caught by a one-eyed, one-eared flying crimson human beings eater, the probability is largely one hundred%. yet predicting who would be the subsequent president or no count number if Apophis will hit the Earth in 2036 includes plenty greater uncertainty. in actuality, the destiny does not exist till that's the previous. in case you will possibly desire to time holiday to the previous and undergo in recommendations the lottery numbers, you will possibly have not greater effective threat of winning the lottery when you consider which you would be going right into a diverse destiny from the only you got here from.

If people don't die off, a clever inventor will make a machine capable of thinking on its own and funds from a government will give it the ability to control things. After that, natural life will be replaced by synthetic life forms made by the machine. Trees will be eaten whole and people will be hunted by larger "things", and everyone born naturally will live in fear and will not go outside at night.
