Vaginal discharge and blood will not effect the results of a home pregnancy test (hpt) because it detects only the presence of hcg, a hormone your body produces only when pregnant.

HPTs work best when you wait until your period is 3 to 5 days late before taking one. Since your period is 12 days late, it would be a good idea to take one. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions carefully.

However, I STRONGLY urge you to see a doctor ASAP because you may have an infection, sexually transmitted disease, or be having a miscarriage. Bleeding and vaginal discharge are not normal symptoms at this stage of pregnancy. Some STDs and infections cause no symptoms but can destroy fertility or even cause cancer, etc.

good luck.

Hi..yes you can take a pregnancy test now. But make sure you take it the first thing in the morning for you to get an accurate result. Good Luck!!

It sounds like you could have been pregnant and possibly miscarried. You need to call your doctor and have some blood tests done.
