You're only hurting yourself. Traditionally, it is a US Holiday, but it is universally about giving thanks and recognition to land, food, prosperity and a higher being and a celebration of LIFE. Everyone should have something to be thankful for. So enjoy your holiday, even if you don't stuff a Turkey or eat cranberries on Thursday--surround yourself with family and/or friends and be 'thankful' that you are ALIVE!

Sweetheart your desire to celebrate Thanksgiving or not is solely your decision. This shouldn't offend others but the truth of the matter is that it will. Some people tend to take things that have nothing to do with them to heart therefore they are offended. I believe that if you don't want to celebrate Thanksgiving you shouldn't. You can never make everyone happy so sometimes you have to what's right for you and let the rest go.

You wouldn't be hurting anyone by not celebrating it. A holiday is not a requirement but a choice. If someone offers for you to come to Thanksgiving dinner just politely decline. Or if you want, attend, just treat it like any other dinner party you might attend.
Good luck.

No, to each is own. My daughter loves the concept of Thanksgiving but she's into animal rights & doesn't eat Turkey but everyone has a right to celebrate or not. Whatever holiday you celebrate I hope it's a happy one

It doesn't matter if you celebrate it or not. If you don't want to, then don't worry. If you have been invited to join someone for dinner, just let them know you have other plans. Spend the day relaxing or doing something you've been meaning to do, since everyone else will be busy.
No one will take (or should take) and offense.

Definitely not the turkey...
In America, everyone can and does celebrate their own holidays. There is a traditional set, but if you bring your own and don't feel like changing, go ahead! Its one of the cool things about this place.

You'll be okay... I don't even know if most people know what the holiday is about anyway. It's mostly just a day to get together with people and have some good food.

Thanksgiving is no longer about being American at all. it's about being with family and friends and being thankful for what you have.
