Cut a pair of gills off a fish and get an insane surgeon (or maybe an insane sturgeon, LOL ) to graft them into your trachea.

Your only chance is to be genetically modified and your DNA changed so that you would have a set of gills. Science is not to a point where that can happen. You could take a chance with a mutagen of some sort but the odds of getting gills are like 1 in a sea of numbers so great that it it boggles the mind. Even then, it will probably kill you.

Evolution will not help you out any. Now, if your goal is for your descendents in millions of years to have gills, then start to live in the water and make it so that all of your future family live in the ocean. Just living there is not enough, you will have to do selective breeding and also have it so that the gills will give a benefit to your family members. It will not happen overnight. Like I said, millions of years. Also, there is no guarantee that gills will form. Under those conditions, some type of adaptation will probably happen, but there is no knowing what it would be. Selective breeding will help influence it though.

You'd have to eat some GillyWeed, but try to avoid the Merpeople, OK?

Then spend more time underwater, lol. Evolution should eventually take its course.
