Well, what could you do about it even if your baby was "too big"? I mean, there isn't much you could do about this anyway. Besides, sonograms are not particularly accurate when it comes to assessing a baby's weight. There is plenty of room for error. Your baby might only be 3.5 or 4 pounds. Its very hard to tell.
Besides, unless your doctor told you to worry about it, I wouldn't. Just be as healthy as possible and eat as healthfully as possible -- avoid all junky foods.

Average is 3 lb 5 oz at 31 weeks. You could have a 9 1/2 lb baby but not necessarily since sonograms aren't always completely accurate in determining weight. Good luck.

I think your baby is very big for his gestational age. Theyare supossed to be just over 3 pounds by now. Did the dr say it was ok? I'm also 31 weeks along but I haven't had an ultrasound since week 22. I'm hoping my dr sends me to get one in my next appt tomorrow. You should have asked your dr this.

Don't worry yourself too much. The Doctor took a sonogram, and if he/she thought the baby was too big, they would have said something. Everything will be okay.

No that sounds about right. That is about the predictions that we had for our son from the doctor. And the average weight for a baby is close to 8 lbs., it is possible that you could just have a bigger baby for birth weight. Nothing to wory about. I gave birth to a 9lb. 2 oz. baby boy who was healthy, just a little bigger :)

I think if there was a problem with your baby's size they would tell you at the doctor's office. With that said, your baby sounds about average size to me.
I think the biggest baby born was 17 POUNDS! Can you believe it? But your baby's size is fine - nothing to worry about.

That is pretty big for 31 weeks. My son was born at 29 weeks and he was 2 pounds 15 oz, and my doctor told me that was several oz bigger than that gestation. Have they checked you for gestational diabetes?
