I'm not sure where you go to school, but there are laws for public schools to abide by in order to make girls and boys sports more comparable.
Try talking to your coach about setting up scrimmages with nearby girl's basketball teams (like a neighboring school). If that doesn't work, to get you more "quality" game time, try talking (formal letters work well) to the athletic director or principal. Be sure to ask about the legal aspects of girl's sports so he/she knows you're attempting to take it to the next level. Get your parents or other trusted adults involved without complaining or whining. Make your case in an objective, adultlike manner.

Take it up with people in your school. Ask the gym teacher, if he/she cannot answer then move up to guidance counselor, then the vice principal, and if they cannot answer your question then ask the principal. Ask them why is it that they are discriminating against women and not allowing them to play basketball with anyone other than each other. Bring up the fact that the boys teams goes to play with other schools but the girls do not. Look up other schools on the net that have women's basketball teams, if you need one to start with try Michigan's Lincoln consolidated schools. My daughter's school has girls basketball teams that compete against other schools.
If all of that doesn't work then you can try to get a petition and have a bunch of people sign it. Another thing that you can do is calling your local news station, they usually have one of those problem hotlines where they try to help fix a situation, I'm sure the school will not appreciate the bad media attention and it will kick start the process in getting your girls basketball team. Good luck!

If I understand you correctly, the boys get to play regular games against other schools' teams. However, the girls cannot. This was the same way it was at my school and I went to high school in the 60s. I would have thought that equality for girls sports had improved over the years. Apparently your school is discriminating against females. Perhaps check your legal rights as far as discrimination goes.

Your school DOES let girls play basketball--you just aren't happy about it.
Confusion: "the girls team only plays against each other"--no other teams or only with other girl teams?
You canNOT join the boys team unless you don't have a girls team. While you may want to play against the boys, you can't. Join the girls team and deal with it. If you play against each other as teammates, talk to your coach about going to different schools. If you play, If you play against each other as far as girl teams vs. girl teams, you have nothing to complain about.
If you really love basketball, you'll join the girls team and become a leader.

That's not right.
Do they let them play softball or baseball?
If they let em play those sports, then basketball should be for women too.
