Curve, in common usage, line that bends continuously and smoothly, that is, without angles, as distinguished from straight or broken lines. Defined mathematically, however, a straight line is also a curve. Only the straight line. Connected straight lines are not curves.

Any line with continuous points (unbroken) is a curve by definition. Yes, a rectangle can be called a curve.
