The Democratic social gathering does not prefer a draft and has no longer observed as for one. Rangel proposed a invoice to hold it returned to tension his opposition to take a diverse place on the problem. that kind of political maneuver occurs in many circumstances and from the two factors, yet could be risky. that's how we've been given the sixteenth modification and the earnings tax.

Only one person has brought up the idea, so let's not generalize everyone. He brought this up in 2003, and is bringing it up again. It is highly unlikely that it will pass, or even go to a vote in the first place. He is an old-school Korean war veteran. This is just the way it was done in his time, and he sees it as the only option. But to answer your question, no, they (meaning ALL politicians) will probably not try to draft you.

Charles Rangel said today that he would push for the reestablishment of the Draft. Yes, if you're a healthy 18 year old you'll have to register and you'll be eligible. The volunteer military raised the bar to a point where today's armed service member is better educated and better trained then any in the world. John Kerry's diatribes about the military are all based on his opinion of the draft which resulted in a dumbed down level of personnel (including him, I imagine). So thank your newly elected majority. Be proud and serve your country - I lived through the draft and so will you.

New York Democrat congressman and nutcase Charles Rangel (don't blame me, YOU voted for him) is trying to bring back the draft so that what he sees as all the rich Republican "crackers" will be drafted. Well, he'll have to prevent student deferments too, or his idea won't work.

Do you think THAT will happen, or is he just showing off?

Yes, dear. About the draft, the Dems were lying. You apparently did not research the matter, because Republicans have been against the draft from DAY ONE. Instead, you assumed that Brian Williams et al were giving you the truth.

Before you vote, try the internet. It's makes research easy.

I hope not!
If they do, they might be able to draft both genders becasue the military branches are more unisex today. I hope the draft never comes back. My Dad was nearly drafted during Vietnam but got lucky.
And this time, people won't be able to take refuge in Canada either.
if Hillary brings the draft back in place, I'm moving to New Zealand.

There is only one guy, Rangel who is talking about the draft. I haven't heard anything about the rest of the Dems being in favor of it. He has been trying to start a draft for years but it kept getting rejected.

No, the Dems are not trying to bring back the draft.

Rangel only raised the issue to discuss the war and who is having to fight it currently. It is just a form of agenda setting.

I doubt it. Almost no one in congress (democrat or republican) wants to do it. However, if we are going to continue fighting wars we should. Right now we are pretty thin and it doesn't make sense for the same people to be sent back time and again even if they are volunteers.

Another liberal lie. You've been fooled but you aren't not alone. A lot of people got duped this year, don't feel bad.
Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., said Sunday he sees his idea as a way to deter politicians from launching wars.
What a joke! I can believe people continue to listen to these fools. Next time vote on the issues and do your research.
Will you get drafted? If this bill passes, it become more of possibility then ever.
