Divide the 3 by the 7 either by hand or calculator. It turns out to be 0.4285714 . Rounded to 3 places would be 0.429 .

Short division is just like doing long division. but without writting down all the steps.

divide the 3 by the 7 and u wud get 0.42857{recurring}
to three dp that would be 0.49
