I live just south of Charleston. I love West Virginia and contrary to popular belief, there is plenty for a person to do here.
Have you visited the Tamarak in Beckley. It's just an hour away!
Have you ever been white water rafting?
I'm sure you've taken advantage of the many shops and places to eat in Charleston and Southridge. And yes, most of us can afford to shop among many other things!
There are several movie theatres, flea markets, festivals and shows in and around Charleston. The Gazette has a column ever day that lists things going on in the area for that day.
I hope you enjoy your great state and take advantage of all that this WILD WONDERFUL state has to offer!!

Azuresky is so funny! LOL! Lovers Leap sounds like fun, waddya' say? LOl! A base jumper died a couple of weeks ago off that bridge when his chute wouldn't open. My entire family hails from West by God Virginia. Hey, I could sic you on all of my relatives! LOL! Better like bluegrass though. Honestly? Hard to say. I lived in Charleston and there wasn't chit to do. Make some friends and go hang out at one of the waterfalls and drink beer all afternoon. LOL! Or, you could do what my family seemed to be good at doing, procreating...they couldn't afford cable. LOL! I come from a family of ten kids. LOL! Honestly? If you are looking for excitement, go to Belle and visit my Auntie's old house. It is called the old stone house and it has a network of tunnels that run for miles underneath it out to the Kanawha River. It is haunted too! Pretty neat state if you like early american history. Make sure you hit the sternwheel regatta. That is a lot of fun. Good luck. Boring place. The poorest state in the union and just as boring.
